Register to enter the gallery (step 1 of 2)

Before you can register for the gallery you must read and accept the terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions

  • The deadly stories gallery is open to people aged 12 years and over. This applies to those submitting an entry or involved in an entry.
  • Persons who have passed away can be included in the gallery. Please ensure you have the appropriate permission to upload any stories or images about deceased persons.
  • All entries become the property of the Queensland Government and may be reproduced or published for promotional purposes, including on the internet, as part of deadly stories campaign activities.
  • All entries must be suitable for viewing by people of all ages. All entries will be moderated for suitable content before being available for online viewing. Submissions including offensive or explicit themes or language will not be published.
  • Entries that do not align with the purpose of the gallery - to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - may not appear in the gallery.
  • Entries can be submitted in a variety of mediums but some restrictions do apply:
    • audio (maximum five minutes)
    • video (maximum five minutes)
    • written word (maximum 300 words)

Entries that exceed this may be rejected.

  • The Department of Communities reserves the right to reject any entry from the gallery and will advise the person making the submission. Rejected entries will not appear in the gallery.
  • If the person or people involved in the entry are under 18 years of age, their parent, guardian or teacher must complete the declaration of entrant form when uploading their entry.
  • Where the entry includes images or audio of a person or people, it is the responsibility of the entrant to obtain written permission to use the images or audio of people appearing in his/her entry.
  • You need to own all original work in this submission or have sought the appropriate reproduction permission from the owner, or for the use of any copyrighted material.
  • Submission of an entry is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry.
  • The entrant warrants that all details provided in the entry are true and correct.
  • The entrant agrees to indemnify the Department of Communities in relation to any loss or damage resulting from any breach of warranty.
